What is the Good News?
The reason I created this website was so that I could share what is called the Good News. The bible says that "there is none who does good, no, not one" Psalm 14:3. When you make a decision, you have morals which tell you what is right from wrong. According to the bible, what is wrong is called sin. We all have a sinful nature in us. At one point or another, you may have personally told a lie or have stolen, both of which are sins. Now, only people who are 100% good can get into heaven. No one on earth is good (Psalm 14:3). Well, this sounds pretty bleak. That is, until you hear about the good news! Your God loves you and wants you to have eternal life. God did the one thing that allows you to enter into His Kingdom. He sent his only Son Jesus Christ to die for your sins so that you may be forgiven. This is His gift to you. You cannot buy forgiveness, you cannot do anything to earn this forgiveness, but you can accept this gift from God and trust in him.
So how do you accept His gift? First you must realize that you are sinful and need saving. Then, you need to trust and believe that Jesus died for your sins and that he is your only way to salvation. Finally, you must repent and ask God for forgiveness for your sins. But it doesn't stop there! This is only the beginning. Once you repent for all of your sins, God makes you new. He wants you to grow in Christ and build a relationship with Him. Going to church does not make you a christian, going to confession does not make you a christian, wearing clothes head to toe does not make you a christian. What makes you a christian is living for God and building a relationship with Him. Let Him guide you and open your heart to all that is good! He is your Teacher and your Heavenly Father. He will direct you to living a Godly life.
To get a better idea of our need for God and His good news, I would like to direct you to a few videos.
