As a Christian who used to be scared and petrified of worship (a story for another time), I am here to present to you my top five favorite songs I like to listen to that worship God: 1. Glorious Ruins “Let the ruins come to life In the beauty of Your Name Rising up from the ashes God forever You reign And my soul will find refuge In the shadow of Your wings I will love You forever And forever I'll sing” These lyrics are the ultimate expression of praising and worshiping God. The song is uplifting and repetitive where you get to hear these verses just enough to sing your heart out until you have to hit that repeat button. 2. Cornerstone “I dare not trust the sweetest frame But wholly trust in Jesus name Christ alone; cornerstone Weak made strong; in the Savior's love Through the storm, He is Lord Lord of all” This song helps to illustrate how Jesus Christ is the cornerstone to Christianity and reminds us to put our faith and trust in Him. He strengthens us and we should celebrate how he is stable and helps us through our trying times. 3. How He Loves “He is jealous for me, Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree, Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy. When all of a sudden, I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory, And I realize just how beautiful You are, And how great Your affections are for me.” This song is the perfect reminder of how the Lord loves us each and is jealous for us in a way that He sets out all the details we need to thrive and follow Him. He will fight for us and gets a great amount of joy when we trust in Him and draw closer to Him through pain and happiness. He fights for us, and we need to fight for Him 4. Steady My Heart “But You're here You're real I know I can trust You Even when it hurts Even when it's hard Even when it all just falls apart I will run to You 'Cause I know that You are Lover of my soul Healer of my scars You steady my heart” This is a feel good song that is addressing pain and questions in a way that make you want to stay still and praise God. It is a reminder that in all situations we should be still and trust in God to guide us. We can trust in Him and know that He has the ultimate plan for us. 5. Hello, My Name Is “Hello, my name is child of the one true King I’ve been saved, I’ve been changed, I have been set free 'Amazing Grace' is the song I sing Hello, my name is child of the one true King” This song is a great one to sing when you want to profess that you are a child of God. It goes through the common negative feelings we feel and how God sets us free. It is upbeat and we can praise God for saving us. 6. God's Not Dead “My God's not dead He's surely alive He's living on the inside Roaring like a lion” This song has been included because it helped me when I felt lost in a world that did not believe in God. It is a profession of God’s existence and how He is not dead, but in fact more alive than ever. I would suggest watching the movie God's Not Dead on Netflix. 7. Shake the World“There's healing and forgiveness in the anthem of the cross. When the sons and daughters start singing this song then everybody all around ‘em will be singing along. It's gonna shake the world. It's gonna shake the world. When we all start marching to the beat of the drum. That's moving to the rhythm of the Kingdom to come. It's gonna shake the world. It's gonna shake shake shake the world” I love the encouragement that this song gives for Christians to come together to shake the world in a way that unites everyone in Christ. It gives hope for people to come to the Lord and makes you want to get up and tell others about our loving God.
It is so hard to choose just seven songs in a worship list, and that is why I am leaving a link right here of a playlist on youtube that I have created for all the songs I enjoy listening to that help me to worship God. May God bless you! ~Jess

There's a battle going on inside us. I have chosen, after much consideration, to spend my life fighting for God in a sinful and God-hating world. This blog tells that story.
